Christmas is coming!!

As we celebrate the Christmas season,
let us remember the birthday.

Matthew 1:21
And she shall bring forth a son,
and thou shalt call his name JESUS:
for He shall save His people from
their sins.

How blessed we are!! He had the birthday, but we got the gift!

Be thankful and share the reason for the season!

And...things change...

The church doesn't look like this to much, right now. And not just because it has knee deep snow on top, and all around it! It has been painted...same color, but looks fresh! The white has been re-painted, also. We have a new copper steeple...thank you Mr. Wood! And, there has been a lot of clean up of the grounds. The inside has been gone through...new paint, new curtains and drapes, remolded bathrooms, a food room for donations has been set up, the office and cry-room got a face lift and the up-stairs has been organized.

But, those aren't the changes I'm talking about. Not to long ago, we, the board, the congregation, were told we may have to close the doors of the church and call it quits. Of course, a few of us "die-hards" held on, even when we were told it was no use. But, it's GOD's church, and He decides when and if the doors close. With lots of prayers, our Lord has guided us through a very tough time. A Pastor wrote a very profound statement in an e-mail to me - "If at all possible, keep the church doors open. If just one person walks through those doors and finds Salvation, it will be worth it!." And then, he put us in touch with Pastor Cherry and his family.

Well, a year later, we still have the doors open and GOD continues to Bless us! I am always in AWE as to how GOD works in our lives! His Grace is truly amazing!! I'm excited to see where GOD takes the Church in the Wildwood a year from now!

Church today!

What a beautiful day...a winter white playground! We may not like the cold and the roads are dangerous, and of course, the work of shoveling and plowing is hard and rigorous, but it is beautiful, and all part of God's plans to keep the world replenished!
It was a good feeling as we drove into the church parking lot and see others pulling in also. Oh, there's Gene and Diane, there's Cindy, and there's Deann! And he's been here before...so nice to see him return, I must remember his name next time! Here's Pastor Thew!!

It was a small gathering today, but everyone was there with an open heart and mind, ready to listen and learn the word of God! A big thank you to Pastor Thew for doing a guest sermon for us today so Pastor Cherry and his family could have a day off ((we missed you guys!!))! Pastor Thew did a great job and we are all thankful for his willingness and enthusiasm to fill in!

Grace and blessings be with you all! ~ Please be extra careful this week, as we are expected to get a bunch more snow!! See you in Church on Sunday!!

We love you Sam and Barbara!!

We all want to send out a big "THANK YOU" to our recently retired Minister, Sam Prosise and his wife Barbara. They have been with the Church in the Wildwood since 1999.

Sam served the church with vigor for many years, teaching Sunday School and Bible Study, along with delivering the message for Sunday Service. His service was by no means limited to just those tasks...he also kept the lawn mowed, the heat on, the water tested, the church supplied with the necessary things that a church needs to run! He made the phone calls, and greeted the people, visited the sick, blessed the marriages, prayed with the dying, comforted those who lost a loved one, and he baptized the saved. Sam gave us his best, always! For all of that, we are eternally grateful!

Barbara also gave us her best! A kind, sensitive, talented woman who loves each person in the congregation! She was there to greet and talk with everyone...with a smile on her face or a tear in her eye. She shared our joy and our pain. She played the piano and sang like an angle. She's extremely talented in the kitchen and kept us supplied with goodies of all sorts!

We support their retirement decision and pray God touches their lives and showers them with blessings in the next leg of their journey! We love you both!
